Since Hamilton Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine was founded by Dr. Ivan Gowan in 1984, the practice has grown to serve a larger and larger community. It is not only athletes who benefit from the considerable skill and experience assembled here. Of the thousands of people treated every year, many are children, adults and senior citizens who have chosen Hamilton Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine as the best place to give them the most advanced orthopaedic care.

Local Sports

The practice is responsible for the Sports Medicine coverage of the athletic programs at Colgate University and Morrisville State College. The doctors also attend games and treat many athletes from the high schools in Madison, Oneida and Chenango counties. As an additional service to the sports community, Sports Medicine walk-in clinics are offered on Monday mornings in Hamilton and Oneida. These clinics are specifically for treatment of acute injuries.
